I have bought my hay from various places , I can get some lovely very green hay from b and m , which is called nature's Timothy hay with dandelion and marigolds , it just looks like hay can't see any flowers you get the occasional petal here and there ,my question is , is this treat hay or a daily hay, it's good value and looks nice ,but I don't want to give my pigs too rich a diet .
Previously I have use hay for pets ings and meadow , the meadow hay at the range ( but I think this had lice in it) and the meadow hay at b and m, all have a little brown through them which my pigs leave and I can fill a bin bag a week cleaning them out ,I have 8 and most of the waist is hay , husband thinks it's crazy , I buy the hay then send him of to the rubbish dump with bin liners full of it, any thoughts?
Do your piggies selectively eat the good bits!

Hi, I give mine the Natures Dandelion & Marigold hay from B&M every day .. its nice and green and very reasonably priced at £1.99 ! Mine scoff most of it so happy to feed them it.. I don't think it is classed at 'treat ' hay but i am not an expert..

It is lovely that hay isn't it , I have not seen any as green as this one though it is dusty as it makes me sneeze , but wondered if it's very rich if got dandelion in it?
Not supposed to have dandelion every day , the normal meadow hay is okay too but they leave a lot maybe this is normal.

it is nice.. only had one problem with it when i found a dead dehydrated mouse body in it... freaked me out big time ! i am not sure how much dandelion is in it to be honest... i just like it cos it is very green and they don't ever leave much !

I buy from hay for pets, 9.5kg at £18. I didn't like the B&M because of the dust. I've also tried all sorts of hay and still finding it a pain to find something to suit all the guinea's.

I know why are they so fussy lol my betsie turn her nose up if it doesn't suit , she like the natures timothy hay though ,I just don't want to give her problems if it's too high in calcium or anything else.

i put mine in a horse wash bag and give it a good shake so hopefully that gets rid of some of the dust..

:D I'll have to have another look in my local B & M. I'd like to get some of that hay for my piggies. Last time I looked in B & M, they had buggar-all in the small pet department! :))

I will post a picture of this hay , if someone knows if it's okay for everyday let me know .

My lot love the Alpha King Timothy hay, only problem is the price but I'm yet to find a pig to turn there nose up at it. Perhaps they also know the price tag and think expensive = good :)).
