I'm going to buy a 9.5 kilo bag from hay for pets, how long will it last me if I feed 4 hungry mouths? I think £16 seems a good deal but I want to make sure as my two boys LOVE their hay and I'm soon to be expecting another 2 little men. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Will you be using the hay for bedding or just in hay racks? I get a 9.5kg bag for my lot about once a month and i use it for... 2x 100cm cages, one 4 ft hutch and an 80cm base as bedding/eating hay for 13 guinea pigs. It should in theory last you over a month or maybe even two?

It will be for both but they don't need a lot for bedding. After what you've said I think I'm going to get it, it'll last me longer than what I have now and it works out a lot cheaper! Thank you hun x

for me that would be 3 weeks worth I pay only 99p a kg now though so using 3kg a week is fine

Just morrisons hay, its great for bedding and the pigs wolf and wheek for it so they approve :-) its like the tesco hay which they also love. Its longer strands than wilkinsons so doesnt just fall out of the racks as much.

Its not burns oat hay which is their favourite and I get them a bag of that about monthly as its so expensive!

I wont get anything delivered like hay because of the couriers, what is the point in week day only deliveries when a large proportion of the population work weekdays ... boggles the mind!

big bales on animals dreams hay are 17 for 17kg too I dont buy them but my local store does and they seem to do ok on it.

Well if your piggies approve I think I may try it, i need something to tie me over until this one is delivered anyway. That's a great thing you do btw, buying them their favourite as a monthly treat. I may have to copy you :(|)

I buy 4kg bags of meadow hay from the range for my four girls and one of them lasts my girls a week but I use it for bedding out a 6ft hutch and they eat it too even though they have timothy in their hay racks :)
