I don't get this little things as you would think if a guinea pig has these there fur would be horrible but no most of my guinea pigs have these and there fur is lovely and soft!
Really don't understand :/

You must see a vet if your pigs have hay mites, I once git hay mites in my heard they caused lots of nasty sores on the pigs skin even though there hair stayed soft.

Oh hay mites are so annoying to get rid of! The vet cannot do anything about it. I bought lice and easy shampoo by gorgeous guineas and kept washing them with it and I also got a spray. It took a few months but it finally went. At least they do not bite or itch them.

Yeah, I've never treated them and nothing's happened!
I've got flea or die I think its called, will that do!?
They are just gunna come back again aren't they with the hay!?

You should microwave all the hay to ensure any bugs are killed. I think that is a flea spray so that will not work I am afraid.

Do you mean hay lice? aka static lice?

Mites cannot be seen with the naked eye; lice can

Static lice will look like little brown specks - they do not feed on blood, so they won't cause itching or anything like that. They live on the fur. They're called static lice as they have no legs.

The best way to get rid of them is with a shampoo (as they don't feed on blood, ivermectin and other such things are pointless). Either use gorgeous guineas lice and easy shampoo, or johnsons insecticidal shampoo.

They are black things, and when you stroke them they come to the surface!
I have the Johnsons insecticidal shampoo around somewhere if I can't find it will buy some more

You can use Gorgeous Guineas Lice n Easy or Flea or Die shampoo, which controls hay mites very effectively, repeat after a week:

To avoid hay lice in the future I would dispose of your current batch of hay if possible & invest in Western Timothy hay like Oxbow, or the one from PAH as it is imported from the US it is sterile so has no little extras in it rolleyes

If your budget doesn't allow that then I would try a different supplier for your hay & microwave it for around 40 seconds before putting it in with your piggies.

Thanks for the info! :)
I've started getting supreme hay and it looks lush!
They do have Oxbow Orchard Grass but that's only as a treat as its expensive
I was getting the pets at home hay but found it quite horrible to be honest
Gunna be a busy girl this week bathing all the piggie's well most of them :)
