I was reading about Guinea pigs, & they were recommended that piggies have hay pellets, as well as hay. Do they mean the dried pellets. So I thought I'd check?

Really?
Mine get Oxbow pellets and Kaytee hay. My Finn and Lara seem to love it so I hope it's ok that they get those.
I get regular delivery with the Kaytee hay and Oxbow pellets.

I think a hay based pellet is sometimes better for low calcium diet piggies with bladder problems, and for fatty piggies trying to control their weight. Also a matter of piggy and owner preference of course! Ours get hay based pellets mostly (we adopted 2 giant fatties) supplemented with a few alfalfa based pellets as a treat for our younger slimmer girls. But generally they arent too fussed about pellets at all and mostly eat hay and veggies, they get a handful of pellets to share between 5 of them twice a day just to have something crunchy to eat that is still there after all the veg has gone when we are at work or asleep!

Here are the correct pictures. Oxbow pallets has 70% grass hay, 20% fortified food, 8% greens and 2% treats.

We feed the piggies a timothy hay based pellet, its the Selective grain free one.

I use these too. At the moment though mine also have what’s left of the burgess pellets mixed in until the burgess are gone and then they will just be on the selective grain free.

I think the above graph is showing you what piggy’s should be fed rather than what these nuggets contain. Eg they should get (according to oxbow) 70% of their diet as grass or hay, 20% as pellets etc. On this forum it is recommended 80% of the diet should be hay. The more hay the better! But try to pick pellets that are hay/grass based. See the nugget comparison chart on this forum it’s quite useful.

G&c is right. The circular chart in the middle is not the ingredients of the pellets (it’s just a generic feeding guide, which as g&c points out differs from the recommended 80% hay diet). The ingredients for those pellets is in the white box at the bottom of the bag

LOL.
As soon as I put that down, I started to wonder what 2% treat was doing in the pellet, :xd:. Because mine get their treats in the way of fruits where they get small amount of fruit about 2-3 times a week.
