Hi Kerry, glad to hear bambi's eye is getting better, I had to take my fudge to the vets on Thursday as he had hay in his eye I had carefully removed it but thought it best to ring and check with the vet as the outside of his eye was still puffy an hour later she said I had to take him ASAP because there was a high chance the hay would of damaged his eye and it had...glad I rang, he's on eye drops for a week, my poor piggies are really going through a rough time at the mo...I've only had them just over 3 weeks and I've already had 3 trips to the vets.

Great news and always such a relief! Bambi is a gorgeous pig!

Oh bless them, ive read a few posts about your little ones and I hope with your love and dedication they will become much healthier piggies!

Is his eye getting any better on the drops? My girl had a tiny bit of hay in the corner that I managed to remove but I took her to the vets and got some eye drops and now her eye is back to normal. It was blood shot on the white and cloudy on the brown!

Ive never had to deal with any pigs with eye issues so it was a bit unnerving! 4 days is all it took with twice daily eye drops. Thank you, I'm sure bambi is happy that she is better now as well :)

Most eye injuries (unless they are severe) heal nearly as quickly as they come on, thankfully! The sooner you can get an eye problem seen the better. ;)

Thank you Kerry,
I'm a New Guinea pig mummy and yep I'm getting about a bit on here :) I'm finding this forum full of lovely people with great knowledge full of tips and fantastic support not just to me but to others who's posts I've read.
Fudges eye looked fine thank you, I nearly didn't ring the vet, I was a bit shocked when she found a ulcer/blister and a scratch on his eye we could see it after the dye was put in his eye so it's a good job I took him as the vet said they can loose their eye if its left untreated her rabbit nearly lost his eye from the damage caused by hay in his eye.
Fab to hear your cute bambi's eye is back to normal and fingers crossed it does not happen to her again :)
