Hello,
My boar Oreo was squinting and had a runny eye yesterday, so I booked him straight into the vet. They used the dye and fluorescent light and you could see the little circle of damage so I was prescribed metacam for 3 days and the optrex infected eye drops (1 drop twice a day for 7 days) my question is, is the optrex a strong enough treatment for hay poke? He had his first drop in last night and his second one this morning and this morning it is ever so slightly cloudy :(
Thank you

I’ve only been prescribed Isathal for hay poke and it’s usually taken about 7 - 10 days to clear.
Only Micah’s eye took longer but he was a runt and had dodgy eyes to start with.

Hope Oreo’s eye heals quickly

Optrex infected eyes active ingredient is chloramphenicol and Chloramphenicol is used to treat haypoke. As your vet has given it, then yes it would be fine.

I hope he is feeling better soon
