Where has everyone got their hay racks from? I don't like the one I saw in p@h yesterday as I've had that one in the past and couldn't fit much in it and found it hard to attach. (it's this one http://www.petsathome.com/shop/hay-and-vegetable-rack-by-boredom-breaker-31509 )

I've seen pics of people's hay racks that are nice and large which I think would be better for having hay in their run so it doesn't mess the lawn up so much. Any suggestions on where you got your hay racks would be great :)

I have two of those but cable tied them into the corner over a litter tray and just pile it up, it works for me. Yes they are pathetically tiny and wont fit over most bars on cages/grids, unfortunately the ones in their outside hutch which are huge (and three) came from zooplus and are screwed into the hutch walls.

I also have two balls for holding hay as well, cant have them short on hay can we.

I have those, I stuff it until it's over flowing and find its empty by the evening so refill for the night then again in the morning etc.
It fits perfectly on my c & c grids. You can get them on ebay and in places like wilkos too, I had one from ebay and it was £3 :)
But if you look on ebay you'll find all sorts of different types and sizes.

I have ones like this....

I can pile the hay in and it doesnt last long. Only down side is i tend to make a lot of mess, but i think all hay racks are like it. Ive also used a bird feeder. Its a mesh box and ive crammed it with hay for my sow Saffy. Works very well.

x.

I had one of the ones from pets at home but I took it out when Erin and Ena were babies as I was worried they may get stuck in the bars. I now have hay balls hanging from the roof of the hutch. They enjoy reaching up and pulling the hay out :)

One of my first piggies from PAH i bought was on the shop floor stuck in the rack and couldnt get out : ( Poor Sage. So i would be careful with youngsters.

I'm going to look into a way of building my own... I don't like commercial hay racks and I'd have to spend a fortune on them!

My two pairs get the bird feeder. I do hang it up but Chip has a habit of pulling his down and dragging it around with him and my other pair are too lazy to be bothered trying to pull the hay out of it... :/

One of the hay racks that my guys have (they have several) is this one...

It seems to be fairly good at keeping the hay in if you use either long stranded hay or a coarse hay.

Sorry, I can't help because this is the one I have and I like it. My piggies are outside in a hutch which has lots of hay on the floor as well.
You can watch my video of the day I bought their hay manger not long ago.

I made a hay trough out of wood. Higher at the sides and back, low enough in front so they can reach in or put their feet up. You could make it as long as you want. Mine is 14" long. Make it wide enough they can reach in but not wide enough to sit in. It works great.

oooohhh i like that hayrack ;) How big are they? I currently use bended C&C grids lined with tarpaulin to stop the hay falling down the back of the cages - they are fixed to the cage using carbiner clips (so i can remove and clean them) :)

Errr.... 8 inches or so in width

You can cram quite a bit of hay in there!

I have these for all my piggies!

The veggie twister, although for us it is the hay twister. I occasionally use it for veggies but not often. I can't remember the website I bought mine from but I definitely didn't pay £5.49, more like £1.99 because I got all 6 for about £15 including postage. It holds more hay than you would think if you pack it in really tight, I put Readigrass in sometimes too. The piggies really seem to enjoy pulling the strands out!

I see a new piggie treat coming on... Wexford and his girlies have a house made from the same wood and have chewed it to pieces - they'd x)x) that hayrack...

Thanks for sharing :)

£1.99, I have these too and they are big. double the size of those horrid silver ball type, and they hold loads.
I also have C&C grids bent over and tie wrapped to to the side of the cage over a correxed hay area

I have a metal hay cube which is just loose in their cage and they really enjoy using it.You can stuff it full of hay and they love it when it hangs out all around the sides.
