Hi everyone, last night my lovely little Parsnip had a hay seed in his eye, it was more floating over his eye ball not actually stuck in his eye. His eye was slightly swollen and only half open. I carefully removed the hay seed & bathed his eye with cold water. This morning there is no swelling, no discharge, no redness, everything appears normal but his eye is slightly cloudy. Does he need a trip to the vets or will this get better in a few days? Thanks in advance 😊

I would advise seeing a vet just to get the all clear seeing as it was to do with the eye. It's good you managed to remove it but I'd just check with a vet that it hasn't scratched the eyes surface or anything. :)

Please get Parsnip seen by a vet today if possible. Eyes deteriorate very quickly. The vet will use a fluorescent dye and UV light to check for damage not visible to the naked eye. Eyes heal very quickly with eye drops from the vet but if left infection can set in quickly.

All the best! Hay seeds stuck under a lid can be a real pest, scratch the eye surface and cause an infection.
Thankfully once removed, the eye will heal very quickly with the correct eye gel or drops. ;)
