Hi all,

I was just wondering how people store their hay if they buy in bulk like I do. I've recently moved into a bungalow and it's not exactly got a lot of room, at the moment the hay is in the cupboard but it's very messy. I was considering one of those black dustbins with the lock lids on them, but again it's finding somewhere to put it. I was considering put the bin in the garden and storing the hay there, but then I thought about damp.

Anyway, please let me know how you store your hay or throw me some suggestions, my bungalow is getting rather messy lol.

Thanks

Kerrie

You need to find somewhere where it can be kept dry .

Maybe you could find some way to keep the hay indoors if it is stored in a way that doesn't make any mess ?

I keep mine is a Jumbo wash bag like this on on Amazon ...

Some people use an old duvet cover.

It's always finding somewhere to put things in this place :/ Mind you I've had another idea lol. There's a spot in my kitchen where a tumble dryer would go, I could get a big storage bin for the hay and storage bins for my dog and guinea pig food and just put them in this spot for the dryer, I need to clear it first though.

I keep my hay in a pop up laundry bin with a zip top. I keep it underneath my cage as my cage is on a table.

We keep ours in a black wheelie bin outside. (When we were given new bins the old one was left behind). We have never had a problem with damp or mould. With a combination of rabbit/guinea pigs, (not living together) perhaps we are just lucky and use the hay quick enough before damp becomes a problem.
