Yep I think so! They are pretty good I've heard. Easy access to the hay and hopefully would reduce mess from trying to wrestle the hay out the package! You would need a pretty big one i think though.
Would the hay also be in a bag? The Ings hay I buy has a strong smell which I like, but my wife doesn't, so I always ensure my hay is kept in the original bag it comes in, its also ever so slightly moist and would dry out if I never resealed it and left it in the open.
You can get lids for those flexi-tubs which would help keep the hay fresh but they aren't too big, I'm not sure how much hay you buy at once but I'd need two or three of those tubs to store mine in and I only buy a 4kg bag.
I've swapped to buying a bale as only £6 and the farm stores sold me a hay bale bag £17 so you just hand the bag over and they put the bale in - mines in the garage at the moment and I decant it into a plastic bin as needed. Very mess free so glad I got one.
I've also got 2 smaller bins that I use to carry smaller amounts in and of the hamster bedding too. Stops any mess inside or hay blowing across the garden.
I buy bale of hay from my pet shop who get it from a farmer - £10 but saves me searching for farmer and also lasts ages! I bought a £1.99 duffle laundry bag from B&M and decant sections of it into that to let it air and also to allow me to now have to drag the bale around or walk about with handfuls of loose hay. though my boys are in the shed so a quick brush up after isnt a problem - but the duffle would work well in the house with a small pack.
