I've recently found that I may have been storing hay incorrectly and I'm looking for a way to store hay in a way that will keep it dry.
Living in a tropical climate, it is very hard to keep the hay from getting moldy in the humidity. I'd love to hear ideas or examples of how others store their guinea pig's hay.
Also, I use a hay called Pasture hay and wanted to confirm that this is a quality hay that is good enough for everyday?

I also wondered if using a sachet of silica gel crystals where the hay is, would help wick the moisture from the air and store the hay better?

The hay itself should be fine but you need to check it smells fresh.

The silica gel packets are to keep moisture out while it is packaged.
I would recommend that you don’t store the hay in its plastic bag though given the humidity.
You could store it in cardboard boxes
