Hay surprise

I opened a new bag of hay this morning and this was in it...

I'm assuming it's nothing to be worried about... or is it?

I found half a dead mouse in a bale of haylage for the ponies. Never did find the other half...

Hay often contains little surprises!
As long as it smells fresh and looks ok it will be fine.

Comet and Blitzen once had an argument because they both tried to eat the same piece of hay at the same time, and it looked rather like that does. Grottiest looking piece of hay in the cage and that's what they squabbled over.

You could always send that back to where you purchased it from and say you are not happy with the Hay

I once found two pieces of orange twine in the hay . . . I'm grateful it wasn't a dead mouse

Thanks for the reassurance all. I wasn't overly concerned but as a compulsive worrier, anything slightly out of the ordinary always makes me a bit anxious...
