Just a quick question...
What are the textures of these different types of hay?

Ings Hay?

Meadow Hay?

I know theTimothy & Rye hay I get is a lot coarser but I'm just curious about the others

I'm guessing you're asking about the Hay for Pets hays? Ings hay and meadow hay are both soft hays, the ings hay is really just a type of meadow hay. The difference is it's organically grown in traditional water meadows. When I tried the samples my guineas definitely preferred the meadow hay but timothy hay is recommended for various reasons.

Meadow hay is what you'd typically get when you buy hay from a pet shop.

Yeah :) I'm currently giving them the Timothy & Rye - they go mad for it. They never really seemed that interested in finer hay

Mine both prefer the normal meadow hay - they weren't that fussed about the Ings, funnily enough. Heard a lot of good reports about it on here - guess it's just down to piggies personal preference.

Ings has just got Maggie eating hay after 2 weeks of not! I vary my pigs hay a bit each time I buy some - they seem to appreciate the variety (I could be imagining it....)

meadow hay is lovely and soft, timothy and oat hays are far courser. I feed exclusively timothy regardless of my pigs preference due to having pigs who arent youngsters

I mix it up. Most days they have some timothy hay in their hay rack. They always have unlimited meadow hay on top of this in litter trays and hayracks when i have run out of timothy hay.

the soft hay is thinner strands and i use that for their hay area. then they have the stalkier timothy and rye in kitchen roll tubes around the cage. they love both hays and eat loads and loads. :) none of my lot were ever as excited about the ings, which seemed fairly soft aswell. the piggies would eat it if they had no other hay, but weren't excited really, and my two bunnies ate a little then didn't want it. x

We've got some hay from a friend and they barely like eating it - ends up being slept on because it's quite fine.
Just waiting for my hay delivery at the moment

Piggies seem happy enough with timothy - Don't want to rock the boat as I've just had a 9.5kilo bag of hay!
