Hay time!

You really can't beat big piles of hay for keeping piggies happy can you...
Here's my main herd enjoying a late evening hay top up (timothy in the hay room and meadow in the hay trays) in the hope that I can sleep in a bit tomorrow seeing as I'm working from home!

I love how they are sitting politely around the edge and eating (it may be a misconception on my part that it stays that way though!).
When I put a fresh pile of hay in, my two seem to have competitions to see who can run through it first, who can squash it down most and who gets most in their hair/a totally new hay-hair do!
 
Only Tallulah skinny pig doesnt have an early snooze button but bless her she is very influenced by daylight, if its midwinter and I dont put the light on she doesnt wheek between sunset and sunrise! Rattles her waterbottle yes and noisily chews her edible furniture and chirps a fair bit at 3am but doesnt wheek after the lights go off as long as the heating is on :) so a lie in until 8.30 possibly! Once the dreaded Tallulah-oollah-woollah starts wheeking there is no escape, she sets off everypig in the house!

My main herd seem to have a floor hay etiquette, especially with the after dinner timothy hay to share on the hay room floor- its the most civilised thing they ever do, they squabble over 6 bowls of veggies and pellets for 6 piggies but timothy floor hay is their equivalent of a formal dinner party with them all seated round the edges being polite!
