I’ve been using vale bale which my piggies love but it’s full of little pieces of hay and seeds and they’re getting bits stuck in their eyes constantly. Is there a hay recommendation that’s not so full of seeds?

I think I'd have a riot on my hands if I took away the seed, lol. Meadow hay (from experience) tends to contain less than timothy or orchard hay, but I don't know of any that would be seed head free. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw/bag/box/bale.

There's a lot of variety in hay even from one small section of field to another in terms of constitution, so there's no way to guarantee seed-free. Even less chance of avoiding small bits of hay just due to the nature of the mechanical process used these days. The only way to make sure you have the perfect hay is to get out the scythes and mow your own!

We get hay from haybox and it's pretty good, but even so I shake out each layer as I remove it to decant into the ready supply. Then I shake each handful again before I put it in the Piggy Palace. I rarely get haypokes or stuff in eyes now, even with two blind girls...though as Trinny had now had both her eyes removed I suppose that doesn't say much 😆
