I'm really struggling at min to find good quality hay locally, so much so I had to buy alfalfa king Timothy hay which they love but I don't like the fact it comes from America what a carbon footprint!

Can anyone suggest any good online hay suppliers which are not too expensive. I have six guineas so can buy in bulk

My piggies adore oxbow western Timothy hay, however it is from America so doesn't solve your question. Mine also love hayforpets igs hay which is very green.

I haven't tried the Ing hay - will get that next time round. As for the meadow hay - it is a bit of a brown/green mix and it is lovely and soft - could almost get into it myself!

Hay for pets! Brilliant service and delivery!
My OH met a lady who owns a farm and she's offered us a bale of hey and his friend has a bale waiting for us.

Jess, the farm where I keep my horse sells bales for £3.50 - if you want I can give you their number, just pm me. I buy the huge round or rectangular bales for £40 and that feeds my horse, rabbit and piggies for a month.

Also looking for some good soft green hay, that isn't stalky! So these suggestions are really useful :)

Like you i used to get the alfalfa king timothy hay but wanted to change after finding out it came all the way from America! So I tried Hay 4 pets! They are fab! Ordered a few days ago, and i really wasnt expecting it any time soon being christmas and all, but it arrived yesturday! Merry Christmas piggies :D hehe! I got the 'Ings' hay, its lovely and green and fresh smelling and is in lovely long strands, and best of all the pigs absolutely LOVE it! Would really recommended them!
Merry Christmas!

Deansfarm meadow hay is really soft and green highly recommend it. www.deansfarm.net

Got my delivery at the weekend, and it looked a lot softer in the bag than it felt when I got it out. Bit disappointing, but they are eating it, but not enthusiastically!

I use Natures Own, 5 XL bags of hay for £19.99 and the hay is lovely and green. I also buy mine Oxbow Orchard Grass which is £33 for a 4.05kg :)
