My girls have just go a new cage with a hay holder. However they don't seem that keen on it.I'm wondering if its because they have to go on their back legs to get to it. They seem to prefer to eat from the litter tray that I've put underneath it. I'm just worried that its not very hygenic for them to eat hay they've peed and pooed on!

If you can lower the rack down for them.

Mine have hay piles, which they eat, sleep, poop and pee on. I change it regularly but they're pretty good at avoiding the dirty bits.

Mine prefer their hay on the ground - I change it every day as it does get pee soaked by the end of the day :))

Mine hated their hay rack and would only go near it to eat the hay hanging from the sides (I hated that hay rack too..stupid invention), this may also have been because they havnt been so fussed on hay until recently. Now they are loving eating their hay out of their new girly hay sack I bought them and it hangs at just the right height for them.

Hay sack? What are these then?!
I'm changing their hay twice a day so hopefully it will be ok. The dirty monkeys love to lie in it while they eat!
