Whats the difference between timothy hay and normal hay ? ? ?
I just use the normal hay, should I be using timothy hay ? [Although I've never come across it]

Thanks, Alan. :D :D :D

Timothy Hay is greenier and thicker strands so can help better with teeth. I use thicker hay (not Timothy) and meadow hay just for munching on. :)

I'm sure there are more differences. :)

Thats what I use, I'm always mixing their hay ;D

we used to feed meadow hay to our piggies but they would get grass seeds in their eyes, lucerne has too much calciium so for us in south oz that only leaves oaten hay(UK call it oat hay) so we give the girls including bunny oaten hay and use scissors to cut timothy hay and mix it in with the pellets. timothy hay comes from the USA and i get it via oxbow, not sure if there is anywhere else in the UK where you can get it from. you can also feed them cavy cuisine pellets made by oxbow which is made with timothy hay O0 good luck with finding your piggies the hay they like. have heard you have things like mountain hay and a few others as well.
timothy hay is supposed to be better and healther for piggies than normal hay but as it comes from USA it is expensive ::) ::) ::)
