As some of you know i have rescued 2 very malnourished boars who have never been given Hay they have been fed on a museli mix and fresh grass with veg very occaisionally. Obviously now i have have to get them introduced to hay pellets and veg, I'm not sure how old thhey are but tthey 600grams and582grams i can feel their ribs

wjich is the best way to introduce them to the mew foods?
would anyone recommend the use of probiotics in there water?
Is there anything i can use to build them up?

All advice gratefully recieved.

No experience of malnourished piggies, but with other animals that have been underweight the maxim has been little and often. Weight gain should be slow and steady, not too fast. I would be tempted to provide small amounts of hay initially, see how quickly they get through it and how they react.

No idea about the pro-biotic, I would always give it to a starving horse to help build gut flora, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will advise on piggie specific stuff.

Good luck :)
