Just given my cute piggies their first taste of fresh hazel branches and leaves and there was much excited squealing and squabbling! I think they liked it. I live near a path with an abundance of hazel and brambles. Will try them on bramble leaves tomorrow and it will be interesting to see their reaction.

Ooh, I'm jealous - hazel is one of the few safe-for-rodents trees that I can't get my hands on locally!

Mine love bramble leaves. What did yours think?

Both the piggies and the rabbits had hazel branches yesterdayk and they were all very excited about them.
Much popcorning and munching took place.

I found the same problem, until I met a wonderful lady with rabbits who said she had a few trees and before I knew it she gave me a sapling! Hopefully it will give joy to many pigs to come! :D

I have a twisted hazel tree in my garden - is this safe to feed my guinea pigs?

My two wouldnt eat the hazel branches I picked for them. They just want grass hay and grass oh and harringtons.

I was just looking for your post! because also MY piggies are not interested in hazel branches and they don't care of the fact I own a big garden in the countryside belonged to my grandparents which have a lot of hazel trees!
(today was the expedition-day to the mountains for picking grass and producing hay... NO GRASS AT ALL! all burnt by the drought!:hb:)

Oh dear! Now that is a shame! Hope Callipso and Calliope weren't looking forward to some lovely mountain grass!

the crazy situation is that we drove so many hours reaching a high altitude, hoping in some grass... as we had brought with us FOUR BIG bags!
The piggies had the usual grass from private gardens...
what a disaster those lawns... totally burnt! look, this is the picture of that place last year in June
