For those of you following my "lone piggy debate" thread. I would like to ESTAICALLY announce HE IS HOME. He is handsome, he is lovely...and I adore him already. I think he's meant to be. He has come out of his bring home carrier, after taking brocoli, orange pepper, and parsley out of my hand and eating it as if it would run away. Investigated a vit c tab...but wasnt sure about it (so its in his cup for later)...upon meeting his brothers THRU the wire whilst i was holding him. He sniffed, he gave one little soft almost unheard wheek...and they proceeded to chew thier bars..and make a rumble strut at him. (however no yawning for either party..so I'm happy about that).
He then went to my hubs for cuddles...sat a good fifeteen mins or so being loved on, then took a giant wee on my husband. (lol..good for him)...and then we put him in his new home. He imediatly went to his food bowl and ate about six or seven pellets..then investigated his snuggly sac...and proceeded to climb in , turn around...lay his head down and take a rest.
He likes it here so far...and I'm going to leave him be for abother few days...then introduce them in the play pen with a gate to seperate...after a few days of that..I will be removing the gate and see how they do.
he will always LIVE in his own home...by himself..so no fighting (seeing that everyone anys tried to put him with , he's bitten and drawn blood)...so..he will be a lone piggy. BUT he will have piggy company threw the bars, and on neutral ground.
I am so enamoured with him already.
I know your not suppose to have favorites. But...It seems his big , hairy, kissy self has stolen a peice of my heart my other two boys havent.
Oh ..and the vet came to the store today and was doing her rounds. I was very surprised that she was there, because she is one of the vets, that MY vet shares a practice with.
She pronounced him a little thin, but otherwise healthy. and she said its not a unhealthy thin...just he needs some veggies, being at a pet store for months on end, and only getting hay and pellets...he just is slim.
and as mentioned his back toenails need a trim. she said to just wait a few weeks and let him settle in before I tackle that.
I was very appreciative. It just lucked out that she was there , checking them out and we happen to show TODAY to get him. Instead of waiting till sat.
His temperment so far is very mellow. he is not jumpy or goes stiff when you pick him up. he is very soft and relaxed. the only thing that gave him a start was when my husband dropped the hammer in the kitchen. but i jumped to so hey...lol
HIS NAME: well....we muddled over a ton of them. and there was three I liked, and two my dh liked. But we couldnt decide for sure. So...we picked the two BOTH of us could tollerate, put them in a hat...rolled it around and picked out.
