Hi everyone,
Sophie my guinea pig just got over a cracked rib and now she is bobbing her head.
Not all of the time but some times she bobs her head to the left it's really more like a jerk not a bob

Also sometimes when she urinates :red she does a half chirp
Is this normal Also this is just sometimes

Thank you
Sarah & Sophie

Hi...
Unfortunately sometimes threads get bumped down and missed... :(

As for the pig...
Does it look like a head tilt... Meaning... The head will be rotated to one side...
Or is it like a swaying motion...?

And the noise whilst urinating could be a UTI and would need to be seen by a vet...

x

Please have her seen by a vet if the head bob doesn't disappear in a day or two or is getting more noticeable. I have had piggies with a bit of bob or tilt and is has usually disappeared rather than got worse.

Keep an eye on her urinating, it is simply too early to tell yet. If it gets worse then there is a chance that she may have UTI.

Sorry, but that is all you can do at the moment.

If she squeaks when peeing then she might have a urine infection. I really don't know what could be causing the head bobbing. Is she distressed by it? If you are worried, pop her to the vet.

That's good news - they certainly keep us on our toes ;)
I get really paranoid with my piggies if I notice something different about their behaviour. Vets would rather you pop them in for a check over early rather than late and understand any concerns even if there is nothing wrong :))
