Hi,

Got up this morning and we noticed that one of our beloved boys is shaking his head and is tilting it... came out of the blue. He was absolutely fine yesterday, but then again, that's what Guineas do-hide illnes :(
I'm taking him to the vet of course in the afternoon, but could anyone please share their experiences with head tilts, what caused it, treatments, difficulties yiubmay have came across etc please?
Is it easy to treat with antibiotics?
I'm so worried, so would like to learn more about what were your personal experiences please x

Hi!

I'm sorry your post was unanswered. How did your little one get on at the vets? Ear infections can usually be treated effectively with antibiotics if caught early enough. They sometimes need a slightly longer course though if it's deep Seated x

Hi,

The vet checked Elvis' ears and luckily she could see any signs of infection.

She said it seems he had some irritation cause by something that got stuck there. A bit of hay most likely, which would make sense as he loved to burrow in hay.
His tilt and shaking were gone by 1pm when my partner got home and she said If it was an infection that wouldn't go away in 5 hrs since we spotted.
Obviously I'm glad we took him for a check up :) but ha absolutely fine now. Thank god xx
