Head Twitch

Germaine is the white and grey pig under the stool. We have noticed she is twitching when she is falling asleep. Just in head. She doesn't do this any other time then when she is falling asleep. The other two don't do this. Maybe a leg or whisker twitch when they are asleep. Any ideas about what is happening?
 
Has she had a head tilt. Since Minky first had a head tilt over 2 months ago I notice that when she's looking tired she does a sort of twitching movement. Her head slowly turns one way then sort of springs back to where it began like a twitch. Minky does similar to Germaine but slower.

I have never seen her with a tilted head. Don't know why she does it!
 
If you can, please have her checked by your vet before the weekend; it could be ear mites, a build up of wax or the beginnings of an ear infection. the sooner the cause can be treated, the better; especially when it comes to ear infections.
 
Thanks for your advice. I'll call the vet tomorrow.
 
To update- I went to the vets with the three of them today. She checked Germaines ears for signs of mites/infection and watched the video. She thought it could be neck/joint pain irritating her but stretched her neck and muscles and saw no signs of pain. She checked everything else physically and checked her teeth and gave her and Winnie a clean bill of health! Lily has urinary tract infection/bladder stones. We are on baytril and meloxidyl (painkiller) for a week. If she is still crying on urinating then we have to go back and treat for bladder stones.
 
Imight get berated here but personally even if the vet couldn't see ear mites, I would be inclined to treat her for them. I think sometimes it isn't obvious piggies can have mites even when checking their ears. I have seen it before, experienced it and insisted and guess what, the ear drops worked!

Perhaps give it a little time, if symptoms persist go back and request some.

How would you treat for them? Do you have any pictures of Flossie? We love Germaine!
