Had to rush Benji to the vets last night with horrendous diarrhoea. He wasn't severely dehydrated but his gut was almost completely empty and he was obviously uncomfortable.
He's been admitted for syringe feeding and sub cut fluids and gut stimulants and antibiotics but he's really poorly.
Rodney doesn't know what to do with himself and I'm at a bit of a loss as it's all out of my hands but from speaking to the vet it appears we may end up having to have a serious discussion regarding ceiling of care in the next few days if he doesn't start to improve.
:soz:

Fingers VERY firmly crossed for poor Benji! What a nightmare for you and for poor Rodney! :(

Sending lots of healing vibes for Benji. Got every crossed. Hugs to you and Rodney x

Sending lots of healing vibes for poorly Benji, I hope he picks up soon xx

So sorry to read this, what a horrible and stressful time. I really hope Benji is feeling more himself soon x

This guy is going to be the death of me. I had an appointment at the vets arranged for last night to talk about what the options were for Benji- he'd stopped having diarrhoea but wasn't passing anything, wasn't interested in food and was turning down the syringe feeding.
When I got there however, he'd started to accept the syringe and passed a formed poo- still a bit soft but a far cry from the mess of the weekend, so we agreed to give him a chance and see how he was this morning.
The little pest is currently sitting in my living room chomping his way through a bowl of nuggets, nestled in a pile of hay and looking far too pleased with himself!
I can't believe the difference in him. He's a bit dirty and very thin but you would never have thought we were considering having to letting him go yesterday!
Thanks for the stress Benj, just what I needed! 20170718_171614.webp

What a scare! I'm so glad little Benji is doing better now, hope he continues to recover well.

Just seen this. What a scare. Good to see he is perky and eating again, but what a terrible time for you x

I couldn't believe it when I rang the vets yesterday and they said he could come home- I had to double check they had the right piggy!
Can't believe what he's put me and Rodney through this weekend!
