I'm still trying to get over the loss of Billy earlier in the week & now Patch is very poorly 8...
He seems to be in pain & won't eat & has lost a great amount of weight. I have been to the vets & he's on metacam for the moment as nothing else seemed to be wrong - teeth, tummy etc etc all checked. So I'm syringe feeding again 8...
Please could you all keep your fingers crossed for him xx

Poor Patch - and poor you too. I hope I helped on the phone, what you described is certainly pain, which in itself will affect appetite as well as the *possible* cause also affecting his eating. Hopefully that Metacam will kick in soon.

Sending lots of hugs for Patch. x

Thanks Laura, yes you did help as always & it's such a relief to know you are there x

Very sorry to hear Patch is poorly, I've had great success with using metacam for my piggies so I hope the metacam kicks in for him soon x

I am so sorry about the bad news. How is Patch?

There is nothing more frustrating than when a piggies goes off food and is in pain and you can't figure out the reason! I really hope that gorgeous Patch will get better again!

oh no, so soon after Billy too, poor you, sending mahooooosive vibes to Patch, be strong love xxxxx

Thanks everyone xx
He picked up a bit last night & had a bit of romaine & hay & was doing well with his syringe feeds. He nibbled a bit of cucmber & hay this morning & had a little drink from his bottle & went to sleep in his hay (he didn't leave his pigloo yesterday so that was an improvement). However, he is now being very unco-operative with his feeds & he even refused his metacam before which is not like him at all - he loves metacam usually 8...
I am exhausted with it all - I started my new job last Monday & was already exhausted with Billy & now this - I just don't know what I'm doing wrong :{

BIG HUG

It's not you that doing things wrong, but it is certain that Murphy's law has it in for you right now!

Sending you and Patch big vibes!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oh hon, youre not doing anything wrong, you are loving your pigs and looking after them, if they are ill its not to do with anything you have done, dont be so hard on yourself....please :)

You're doing nothing wrong - quite the opposite in fact. You are having a terrible run of it though :(

Big hugs to you and come on Patch, be a good boy for your mummy and have your medicine xx

Thank you all for your wishes xx
Unfortunately we had to make the horrible decision again and had to help Patch on his way to rainbow bridge. I am heartbroken once again only 10 days after Billy. I'll post a tribute later on x

I'm so sorry to hear this, I can imagine how heartbroken you must be losing two piggies in such a short space of time.

RIP little one xx

So very sorry to hear about Billy and Patch. My thoughts are with you.
Popcorn together boys, bless you both x

You did everything you could, he was a very poorly boy though, and as hard as it was I think you did the right thing. Take care of yourself.

Rest well, dear Patch. xx

HUGS

I am so sorry that you had to let your second boy go today despite your best efforts and so close to losing Billy. It is such a gutting decision to make, even when you know that you are doing the right thing. You have not failed your boys; they have had a most wonderful life with you!

Thinking of you Suzanne at such a sad time. :(

Try to remember the great quality of life he had whilst in your care and all the love he received. Some piggies are never that fortunate.

Be kind to yourself, though I know that this will hit you hard.

Much love

Louise and all at Little Brambles x x
