Well, we only managed a four week break between vets trips. :laluot_08:Rocket has developed a head tilt and balance problems. :(
Vicki could see a bit of pus by the ear drum ( it's still intact at this point) when she looked so he's on Septrim and Metacam for now, finger's crossed that sees him right. He's ben very depressed since losing Wally Whiskers so that may have had an effect on his immune system. He won't be able to go in with the girls until his head tilt has gone, he was due to join them a week on friday ( 6 weeks after the neutering), let's hope its cleared up by then.
And to top things off Moonpig's nipples seem bigger :aLJFBQ00151070111C: ( you may remember he managed to get in under the divider in their run the other day for a few moments before I spotted him), I don't think I can take much more piggy health dramas.:laluot_20: Please send lots of positive vibes. Thanks. x

BIG HUGS Andrea x x You've had such an awful time lately.

Hoping Rocket gets well soon, lots of healing vibes his way. Hoping for a speedy recovery, you've caught it early.

C'mon Rocket x x

Come on Rocket, bless him, sorry to hear your going through the mill Andrea, if only i could do something.

I'm sure the nipples thing is just a co-incidence, when we had our boy done over 3 years ago, we were told 4 weeks then he went back with the girls and we had no more babies......

xx

oh heck, I'm so sorry for all the bad things happening.

Massive healing vibes being sent from us lot xx

Sorry to hear about Rocket, hopefully he'll be feeling back to normal again soon! Unfortunately we also went to the vets with Boris this morning, after his neuter he developed an abscess which ended up needing to be surgically removed. Definitely not all plain sailing!

Hopefully Moonpig hasn't fallen pregnant, the nipples might just be a co-incidence like Toffee said.

Oh no! Sending all my healing vibes Rockets way! Oh, and fingers crossed for Moon Pig too! :...

What time were you there? We must have just missed you. Poor Boris, hope he's feeling better soon. :laluot_29: I was worried about abcesses too having read how common they are after neutering, Yoshi had one when he was neutered ( that was before we adopted him and he recovered okay).

OMG nooooooo not again :...:(

HEALING WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKY LOVES FOR YOU ROCKET XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Poor little things! Fingers crossed for you and them!

I'm beginning to wonder the same thing myself Glynis!

How is Rocket this morning?

He's about the same, Vicki said we probably wouldn't see any improvement for a few days if the ABs are going to work. Just hoping he doesn't get any worse. He's very miserable poor boy, feeling rough and missing Wally. Lying in the corner next to Livvy Lou ( there are three layers of grids between them) who's keeping him company as best she can, bless her.

We went at 9am, we went last Wednesday and Thursday too! Some fluid was drawn off it both times and we started Baytril and Metacam in the hope it would go down but it was just continuing to fill up. So we had the follow up yesterday morning and it was decided the best thing to do was have it opened up and removed. I think it's going to need to be continually flushed now until it heals but he's still at the vets because they did his operation late on yesterday and he was too sleepy to be picked up come half 5.

Poor Rocket, hopefully he'll be feeling less miserable when this passes and when he can meet the girls. Even if it ends up being a total of 7 or 8 weeks it'll be worth it!

Aww, poor Boris. He's having a rotten time too. :laluot_29::laluot_29::laluot_29:
I know what it's like when you're backwards and forwards to the vets, we've been there so often since the beginning of the year with Yoshi and Wally ( sometimes almost every day for a week) that Kirstie suggested we move next door! :( I think I know every pothole on those back lanes all the way to Tarporley now.
We were there at 10:20 to see Vicki so we missed you by a mile. Did you see a different vet or have you been seeing Ian?

I'm so sorry to hear this - hope Rocket recovers very soon and sending him lots of cuddles and healing vibes from us all here x>>

I think we've seen Vicki the past 3 times, although someone different rang this morning to let me know all was well. I get confused about who I'm speaking to on a regular basis so nothing new there! Hopefully I will be collecting Boris tomorrow afternoon, it seemed sensible to let them keep an eye on him today and continue with the flushing as much as they felt was necessary. I myself had to go to hospital today and then was out working until 10.30pm tonight so I was a bit tied up and I would have worried and anted to watch him 24/7.

Andrea whee all hope that Rocket is feeling a little better today and that each hour that passes he feels more and more like his wheeky self again x)x)x)
I'm glad he's got a little friend to at least chatter too.....

COME ON ROCKET GET BETTER XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

@Natalie...... for little Boris & you!

HEALING WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEKS FOR YOU BORIS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

and

HUGS FOR YOU NATALIE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
hope you're feeling better real soon!

I will tentatively say that I think he's feeling a bit better today ( fingers crossed) he's wibbling about and talking to Livvy Lou and Moonpig ( mainly Livvy I think, he's smitten) and he seemed very pleased yesterday when we got back from Shrewsbury and I'd bought him a new set of 3 natural balls ( he destroyed his other ones a while back), he even managed a few little popcorns. He's rumblestrutting for Livvy now. :))

Update on Rocket's progress

Rocket has responded well to the Septrin, his head tilit has pretty much disappeared and he's got his balance back. His 6 week solitary after his neutering is up tomorrow but Vicki wants to see him Tuesday when he's finished the Seprin course to check his ears so he won't be in with the girls until she's given his ears the all clear.
Let's hope he's ready to go in with them next week. I've got everything I need to build the new cage so will get started on that now in anticipation of Tuesday. Fingers crossed!

yay great news! fingers crossed for tuesday!

I just saw this thread. Poor little man. You have been through such hell recently. I am so sorry. It sounds positive for Rocket though. Give him kisses from me.

He's had lots of kisses...and was not amused, especially as I've been wearing sparkly lipstick lately. He now has lovely sparkly ears.:(|) :(|) :(|)
