He has been to the vets for an xray because he was limping - all sems to be ok so he had an anti inflammatory injection & I've got some metacam for him. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it works :...

Poor little Patch. Fingers crossed the treatment works quickly. He's a gorgeous looking piggy x

Big vibes for poor Patch!

I had Nia limping badly for over two weeks due to a strained shoulder joint in December - then it suddenly went better quickly. She had treatment similar to Patch.

Oh thanks Wiebke - I hope that is the case with Patch xx

Spike had a similar thing when he was little, he popcorned right of the top step of his hutch and hurt his leg. (he didn't fall far but obviously twisted as he popcorned and landed funny)
The hutch legs got sawn off after that much to their disappointment they couldn't run underneath any more. He got better in a couple of weeks.

Poor Patch, hope the Metacam helps. Enforced rest may be needed if not enough improvement in the next couple of days - a small cage for a day or two just to make sure he doesn't do any more damage by bouncing around a large space. rolleyes

Update on Patch - he is almost back to normal with regards to his limp & he had put weight on too when I weighed him on Thursday. Just weighed him now & he's lost 70g since then - what is going on? I'm so upset - he's eating & drinking & everything like usual - I'm so stressed with him & Billy 8...

It does seem a bit odd....sure the scales are telling the truth? (I only ask as mine give me false readings on occasion.)

Weigh again tomorrow, if no weight gain by tomorrow evening I'd maybe think about worming, just as a precautionary step.

Thanks Laura (again) - I thought it could be the scales so weighed him 3 times then weighed Wicket too & they seem to be working ok.
Worming did cross my mind - as you know I always think about it then decide not to but I tink maybe I need to just in case x

I am glad that Patches is healing so well! It must be such relief for you! x)

I know lots of people don't worm them and don't believe in it but I've seen very good reason to, and IMO it's worth it if there is a notable weight loss without obvious reason. xx
