Sky ended up at out of hours vets. Although she was fine today, she deteriorated quickly this evening and became floppy and lethargic.

The vet has gueboher antibiotics to eat rather than drop in her eye. And something to keep her guts moving. I've struggled with the syringe (it got some sort of vacuum). But she had a fair amount. And is trying some hay now.

She was also cold so I'm trying to keep her warm.

Hopefully she will be better by morning. Once I'm happy she's okay, I'll snooze and get up in a few hours for more food.

Her eye info is here Cloudy Eye Patch

As an update (it won't let me edit). She asked to go back and is now eating hay and pellets with the others. I'll still be up in 2 hours to check on her.

She's taken a turn for the worst. She peeked up so I grabbed a couple of hours sleep. Got up at 6 to find her cold and limp again. Have been trying to syringe feed and keep her warm. She'll be in the vets asap.

It isn't looking promising. She's my favourite little one - so trusting and bold.

Sending lots of love and vibes x

Sky didn't make it. The vets did everything they could - they kept her warm, hydrated and fed while trying to find a way to make her better. She passed away in the car on the way to the specialist (currently sat at service station I stopped at to check on her). I was talking to her so she knew she wasn't alone. She was one of my first piggy pair and those two helped me through so much. I feel awful because I couldn't save her after she had saved me.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it sounds like you went above and beyond for you guinea and she wasn't alone in the end.

She's at peace now, you did everything you could. X

Thank you all for the kind words. She was such a personality - it seems so quiet without her.

So sorry for your loss! You did everything you could for your little friend. Piggies have a way of being special don't they.

So sorry to hear this. Sky was a lucky piggy to have such a caring owner, who went to such lengths to help her. I hope tou can take strength from the fact you did everything you could to help her. Sending you hugs.
