Thanks everyone. It was good to get her seen by one of our exotics specialist vets today. She was so gentle when handling her.
Poor little Holly still has an extremely tender abdomen but her bowel sounds are improved from yesterday and the fact we are seeing some small poos and less blood shows that things are moving in the right direction. We've got improved pain relief and it's now just a matter of carrying on with the intensive treatment. I have to admit I'm feeling more positive than I did first thing. Cheeky little Holly rewarded us all with a nip to tell us she's not given up fighting yet and then got home and turfed Poppy out of her bed. Feisty little madam.

Oh guys that's a great news. Onwards and upwards. great to hear Holly tryin to be a madam again. Message to Holly pls Take yer medicine and reward us with BIG POOPS

Sending love to little Holly and hugs to you mate, she is in the best of hands with you and your great vet x x Please keep us updated x

All my love for little Holly, she's in the best of hands. Good to know she's still being a little madam too - the fight clearly hasn't left her! Good luck with the treatment,

Awwww bless her! She is gorgeous  Get well soon little one.

What is Emeraid? Is it like CC?

i started my workin day with good news about a piggie with poorly eye. better now and seems I'm going to finish my workin day with another happy story. . Thanks Piggies. And hugs to poorly ones I don't know about. Love to all

Aw bless her, I'm glad she's perkier and hope she gets better and back to mischief soon :) Healing vibes!

I've only just caught this I so hope she recovers well but looking at Holly on the scales she looks as though things are going the right way. She is such a cutie. Make sure you get some rest too.

Emeraid herbivore is something the vets introduced me to. It's a smooth, white recovery or replacement food with fibre, flora etc needed by our piggy friends. You only need a fraction of the same amount of CC you'd need to syringe for total meal replacements. Violet won't touch it but she's the only one of mine who won't eat it. I buy it at my vets or at Hyperdrug. It also doesn't stain my white fluffy dressing gown!

Don't know how you do it. I'm dead on my feet after 24 hours of it. It's not just the time, it's the worry, too.
The worry is the biggest thing. I wake in the morning and I am terrified to go and check on everyone, for fear of what I might find. Worry is exhausting! xx

Fudge loves her emeraid too!

Zantac is good when there's blood from the guts. But the best thing iv found is slippery elm bark powder. It soothes inflammation in the guts and in turn helps lesson diarrhoea and mucous. Iv used it on fudge twice now and my dog has it twice a day for 3 years for ibs.

I use the dorwest herbs version, it comes in a big pot. Let me know if you want some and I can post it x

That would be fantastic, @Adelle. I'll PM you my address. Thank you x

Glad she is improving Vicki, sending lots more healing vibes to help with her recovery. Come on little Holly x

I am reeling in shock here.
You own guinea pigs and you have a fluffy WHITE dressing gown? :yikes:

Glad to hear Holly is improving too, but a white dressing gown?
Really?

That was exactly the thought that went through my mind too! You can't be a piggy nurse in a white fluffy dressing gown! I frequently go out with syringe food smeared over my body, hay in my hair, rabbit crap stuck to my shoes! One day I decided to make an effort, so to put on a dress, did my hair nicely and applied make up, just to go to a vet appointment. Well, I couldn't believe the reaction I got. I was asked where I was going and when I said nowhere, just to my appointment, I was asked if all the effort was for Simon! ha ha

All this fuss about my white fluffy robe, honestly. I should tell you that at wear an apron (piggy one) over my dressing gown which catches most of the splodges. Doesn't everyone wear a poo and feed covered apron over their PJs and dressing gown? :lol!:

Gosh.... You're posh with an apron! :))
Glad little Holly is doing well

No aprons for me! I just have syringe food stains over my pj's.

You are a style icon @VickiA
I suggest a small cat walk show at the next TGPF meet up. :))
