So my beautiful long-haired lady Bernadette has been a bit poorly over the weekend. We had some nasty rain and I think the chill caught up with her - she's had a bit of a bad chest and a not very good wheek at all :( She has been on 0.4ml of Baytril and it seems to be working well, but I'll be getting her into the vets as soon as I can(stupid Bank Holidays :( ) Thankfully she is doing great; eating and drinking beautifully but is still not all there :(

Here's a video of me brushing her about 15 minutes ago (sometimes it's the only way to get her to wheek!), please click the photo to view the video and hear her say 'Hello to the piggie people' :) You will probably have to turn the sound up as she's very quiet - she's not happy with me for giving her medicine and brushing her at the same time! I chased it with dandelion leaves so she's not so bad :)p

Oh no, I'm not crying, just shuffling around on my bed trying to get a good angle on my little angel :) x

Thankfully she's taking her medicine beautifully well (now she's wised up to what it is she's not as pleased by it, but still takes it very nicely :D) but is still a bit chesty and it's not nice :(
And don't worry Amy, Buddy will still have Bernadette to coo over! :) x

Update on my little floofy princess:

Bernadette is doing much better, she still has a wonderful appetite despite the Baytril and hasn't lost any weight :) Her squeak is 90% back to normal, so I'm going to keep on the medication for the next couple of days just to clear out those last few bits :) Have upped the intake to 0.6ml today to make sure she is happy and squeaky :)) Although she's not quite as happy about having medicine anymore! I think she's worked out how horrid it tastes :(

But YAY! She's getting better! :))

Maybe have a nice little treatie for her as soon as she's had her meds, i also sometimes stick the end of the syringe into some watered down cranberry first... that initial YUK taste isn't as bad then!

I always try and chase it with a little bit of broccoli - that's her favourite veggie :) She takes it straight away, but thanks for the tip about the cranberry juice, I may try that :))
 
I will go one better Glynis and I'll give her a chin tickle - she's developed quite a liking for them, raising that little head right up when I get to her floofy chin :))
