Just dropped off Astro and Star off at Simon (cat and rabbit clinic). Supposed to be a follow up dental for astro and check up for star. Turns out both have abscesses that need operating on. Healing wheeks needed for both of them.

just sinng on watford gap services with tears streaming (yes I am a daft old sod) as I am so worried about star as she is just about 5.

Gosh, what a shock! Sending lots of healing vibes from me and the boys. I'm sure they'll both be absolutely fine, but I know how worrying it can be.

HUGS

I am very sorry for your bad news!

Simon is the safest pair of hands; he is very quick, delicate and efficient, so operating time will be as short as can be. He's also got a really good back up team of nurses.

He got a huge (rabbit size, not piggy size!) "silent" bladder stone out of my 5 year old Ceri last year, despite her weight having fallen away every quickly to a critically low 540g at the time of the operation, which meant that things were very touch and go indeed - and all of it while we were away in Amsterdam for my big birthday weekend. Ceri just bounced back and made a very quick recovery - she was back to 750g within two weeks. ;)

Fingers firmly crossed that all will go well and that they will make a good recovery, too!

Lots of positive vibes and healing wheeks sent x

Back home now - school run in half an hour and then pick up parent and into Birmingham for theatre. Luckily Debbie is going to look after them for us until we can collect, the bonus is that Debbie is so experienced with abscesses. Trying not to dwell on it.

Aw so sorry you have 2 poorly ones :( They really couldn't be in better hands, I've done the tears in the car bit whilst waiting for news as well, so you have my sympathy. Simon has done 3 ops on mine & I would put my absolute faith in him & Debbie will get them through the next few critical days too.

Massive hugs... and healing vibes on there way... xx

Aww I'm sorry your little ones are going through this. Today must have been so hard for you. I am wishing them luck.

Star and astro are out of surgery and in post op recovery but being ours they had to be awkward. Astro's abcess was attached to a fatty lump which had to be dealt with first. Star on the other hand was not an abcess but a burst cyst internally on her neck. This resulted in a haematoma which simon has left to heal naturally. The cyst would explain the occasional bouts of paralysis star gets if becomes inflamed.

awww. At least they are both sorted now & a significantly reduced risk of needing anything done in the near future.:tu:
As ever the signs of an excellent piggy slave, sorting them before things got out of hand.
Healing vibes being sent, fingers & paws all crossed for a speedy recovery.:luv::luv:

(i think Simon & Debbie need saint-hoods too) ;)

from the girls & i
xx

Couldn't agree more, so good they are out on the other side and in recovery mode. Well done debbie & simon, what lovely piggy committed people you are.

They are both here and settled in nicely. They are eating well and have had their meds, so it's so far so good! I am caring for three post op piggies today, as a temporary sanctuary resident, who had a retrobulbar abscess, sadly needed to have her eye removed today. She is doing incredibly well too.

Oh my goodness Debbie you will be exhausted! I wish I could help with feeding etc I would if I lived nearer. Poor Simon I wonder if he curses this forum at times lol :)

I hope that all three piggies are doing fine today! Sending healing vibes!
