Health Update! Nibbles And Moo. And What Is This?

Hi. I took them back today to the vet, they checked nibbles throat said it was great and to stop giving him medicine and its closed.
So nibbles gets no medicine anymore and i dont have to treat him.
Moo on the other hand his ear the vet sqeezed it and gunk came out of it so he made a slit in it. He said skin was going his furr so he will have a permant slit/hole in his ear and hopefuly fur can come out so he can stop scratching it. And to put some water in it with a q tip once a month.
But its. Bump with a hole that kind of big ln his ear.
My question is, is there a name for this? And what happens if he scratches his ear and his nail gets caught in it and rips it open.
Or when i put them back together and nibbles jumps on his head or they wrestle and his ear rips open or out?

P.s they say its permet for the hole and the bubble.

it is great that Nibble's abscess has gone down so well! fingers VERY firmly crossed that it won't come back!

Unfortunately, Moo will have to live with a hole and the risk that it can rip. I would still re-introduce them once Moo's wound has healed. Please open a thread before you do that for tips on how best to.

My Hafina (who was found dumped in bad state in a cardboard box in full sun on somebody's doorstep) came with a pretty large hole in her ear, though to stem from an untreated infection. At some point, it ripped by accident. It didn't seem to bother her badly though.
 
Moos wound will not heal it will stay open rest of his life.
Were you talking about waiting to see if the slit will be infected?
 
Did they have to cut her ear off?
Vet said surgery is a option but dont do it if its not necessary to give moo the rest of the medicine.
P.s were still moving in. I'm on my way home now in the car to get the piggies and go to new house while my grand parents cut the cage apart and bring it over
 
Hi, I am not very experienced in most health matters in guinea pigs, though I have a bit of experience in some. Certainly not enough to advise you though, and I really don't know what t say about the ear. However I will be keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well, and will be looking out for updates.

We still got some things to do but heres there new room for now. They will probaly be in the living room in a few months

We got them new huge water bottles from walmart too
