Having acquired a new baby piggy today, I was wondering if there was any guidance around on healthy piggy weights?

The baby (still nameless I'm afraid) is 8 weeks old and weighs 330g. Apparently he is small for his age as he comes from a big litter.

To put it in perspective, my big boy Jack (aged around 4) weighs 1.45kg and looks like he could easily swallow the baby whole!

Is Jack too big, or the baby too small, or are they OK as they are?

I am no good at this but I would say that your baby could be a tiny bit under weight. However, my baby Ena was small but she also came from a large litter and was the runt. May be your baby is the same? So long as he is eating and drinking and gaining weight then I wouldn't worry :)

All guinea pigs are different sizes and wights. My head sow Eliza is nearly 1300g where as Eleanor is 1100g. Erin is still growing but the last time I weighed her she was just over 800g and baby Ena was 360g and she was born at the end of May :)
