Just wondered if anyone can offer any advice or support. Noticed that Mimi's breathing was faster than normal in the last couple of days, took her into the vet today thinking it may be the start of an upper respiratory tract infection and have been told that she has a significant heart murmur. The vet is not sure whether the laboured breathing is due to the fact that her murmur has caused a build up of fluid on the lungs or due to a possible respiratory infection - her lungs are working quite hard - so she is in hospital all day in an oxygen tent to see if her breathing improves and that will tell if its one or the other. Her appetite is good, she's eating her nuggets, veg and hay so thats a good sign but so worried about my little Mimi and hated having to leave her :( Have to pick her up at 5pm..Vet says she will have to go on heart medication for the murmur if its causing the problem. If anyone else has come across this would appreciate any advice.
