Hi Guys,

I'm just wondering whether this hot weather makes guineas eat less! Mine get 6-7 different fruit and veg a day and normally they would wolf it down but in this heat they just don't seem to be wanting to eat anything as much?

Is this normal?

Thanks

It could be that once the veg is out of the fridge in the heat it's already starting to compost itself so doesn't taste as nice. If your pigs are outside because of the sun it could simply be that they're full of grass and aren't as hungry as usual!

I haven't personally noticed this in my guineas though, so keep a good eye on their weight and make sure they're not ill, which is putting them off their food.

To be honest, my piggies were out yesterday and didn't stop trying to eat anything else except the hay since they were happy munching grass. Just in case, can you spot any symptoms of anything or something different about them other than the not eating?
