Would it be a good or a bad idea to give all my piggies a quick COOL bath to try and lower their temp?

No shampoo.. just cool water.

Erm, yes and no, maybe just put some cool water on their backs to keep them cool or keep a bottle of frozen water in a sock in the cage for them to lay against?

If they are fairely warm then putting them into a cold bath could do more harm that good and shock their system and make them poorly. If they are partiularly warm you could have them out for cuddles and wrap them in a damp towel.

Sometimes I give the girls a warm bath and let them dry in the heat, i think it helps them cool down a bit. But i agree not a really cold shower/bath.

I gave the boys a bath the same temperature I usually give them (tepid) and then popped them outside - they needed the bath anyways, but they certainly appreciated having a bath before they went outside in the heat!

i gave my piggies a bath yesterday and they spent the afternoon basking in the garden however as its been soooooooo hot and humid here today i am worried they are too hot with their fur coats. there cage is under the stairs in our living room so not in direct light but if i am feeling hot sat here i feel bad for them.

neither of them have shown me any reason that they are uncomfortable but i am worried, will they be ok? x

Hi you'll find many people will use frozen water bottles with a sock over them or tiles or both......i do during our OZ summer!
Don't put a fan directly onto them either.

I do the wipe down with a damp (not too wet) flannel on their faces and down their backs and sides if it's really humid and hot. Other than that, the tiles and the water bottle with the sock over it.
