Junior Guinea Pig
My lovely black guinea pig Heather died today. She was 3 and a half years old.
She came to us 3 years ago and lived with Honey until Honey died about a month ago. Heather developed a UTI or possibly kidney stones soon after. I do wonder how much losing Honey contributed to her death.
She was a big greedy pig with a lovely glossy black coat. She wasn't keen on cuddles and you had to be careful if you picked her up that she didn't wriggle free! She did enjoy her greens and was always asking for more.
She looked after Honey as Honey got older and her eyesight deteriorated. They lived in a run in the garden and in a hutch in the greenhouse at night. It was always amusing at dusk when I went out to get them out of their run. I would open the run and off they'd go up to their hutch. Heather knew the way and would go straight up to the greenhouse. Honey would often get lost but would happily follow Heather.
I will miss you Heather.
