Hector teeth issues....again!

I noticed last night that Hector didnt seem to be eating much food, Jake was eating and he was just more wondering around.

I weighed him and he has lost some weight since I came back from being at home a few weeks ago.

He isn't dribbling but his lower incisors are a bit long so I am filing them gradually and giving him 0.2ml of childs nurofen just incase it causes a bit of pain.

I soaked his food last night and he was munching it, I also soaked his food this morning and gave him some syringes of mashed up pellets with critical care.

I cant get to Ipswich though where I went last time - Ive seen a vets in Stowmarket who say that they use specialist dentistry equipment for guinea pigs, so ive emailed them to ask if they use GA or not.

I was hoping it was just going to be just the one problem and then that was it :/ I literally have 9 pounds in my bank and get back a whole £300 on tuesday :/ gonna have to borrow some off the OH.

Ahhh I dont need this right now :( Hopefully I can get him in on saturday as my OH is working all next weekend and we cant go after work as I work in Norwich.
 
Ah the two vets I tried don't do treatment at weekends and I can only go at the weekend :/ I may try one in diss that also deals with exotics and zoo animals.

God why now :( the worse time
 
When did Hector last have any treatment on his teeth? In most cases, dental issues can be managed but very rarely cured. It may be that Hector will need a small amount of work doing regularly. My dental pigs need their teeth filing every 12 - 14 days.
 
Once you have got him sorted again it might be worth getting his teeth checked maybe every two to three weeks to start with. Once they start to go wrong they can go very badly wrong in such a short time. Little and often seems to be the way forward.
