The poor little mite

I took him to a couple in Ipswich and he has a ulcer right at the back of his mouth and also spurs going into the cheek

They cut and filed down as much as they could and now I'm just seeing how its gonna do in the next few days

I'm also putting him back on the Nurofen for the pain and obviously keeping him on the Daktarin

He is NOT a good patient! was wiggling all over the place rolleyes

They were both very nice and even gave me some more syringes as I broke 2 last week rolleyes

Oh poor Hector :( I hope his ulcer heals soon (I have one at the mo and it's bloomin' annoying lol).

Get well soon Hector.

Thank you for updating Han, I am glad the rodentologists were able to help, and you've got a head start on the ulcer with giving the Daktarin already.

With luck, that ulcer will heal up quickly and he'll feel more able to eat very soon.

God luck Hector! xx

Thanks yeah me too, he managed to eat the inside of a grape before so I'm hoping he'll keep trying to eat some things - even just soft.
I cant believe the normal vets didnt notice the spurs - shows how much they know :/ They also filed his incisors as the vets had left them ineven and rough

Shirley

They suggested 10 days

At the moment Hector has completely stopped dribbling and I have given him a bowl with gerty softened and a little critical care and hes been eating it quite happily.

Hes still not dribbled. Ive given him 0.2ml of nurofen and 0.5ml of daktarin this morning and ive give him some more softened food and hes munching that :)

Hes still not dribbled. Hes now down to Daktarin twice daily (had to buy some more today) and he is still eating softened gerty and I noticed him gnawing at some branch earlier.

Brilliant news, he's responded very favourably so far. Fingers crossed he continues making such progress! xx

Hi Laura
Thanks for asking :)
I weighed him and he was under a kg on saturday and today hes about 1050kg :) and no dribbling either. Gave him some more daktarin - he seems easier to syringe feed now this now - he isnt putting up a struggle.
I noticed him last night at the dish with the hard pellets and I think he may of eaten some (he still likes his softened food)

I saw him eating a little hay yesterday and he has been eating from the bowl that isnt softened food

Ive stopped him on softened gerty atm as he keeping eating normal gerty - he was going eating a carrot and dandelion stick treat that i brought them yesterday

His weight is still over a kilo :) hes managing to maintain it and is also still nibbling on hard food.
