A update on Heidi.
Quick reminder Heidi was one of three when I gave them a forever home . . about 2 years ago. 20180704_231607-1.jpg
Been threads on here I can't do links or I would. Heidi Cocoa and Chloe loved being together I'm sure they were very happy as I was to have them . .
Sadly as some will know after well fought battles against illness Cocoa Screenshot_2018-12-16-06-48-45.png
first then Chloe

left for the beautiful world of rainbow.
Both were nursed and loved until the end by Heidi.
I was and still struggle as I loved them so much as you guys do your little piggies.
Course my main concern was Heidi who never been alone and reading threads and advise of wiser people than I was watching her as her world had changed.
Well Heidi is very well she had company in Mrs Dougal and Florence in home next to her

I've tried to bond them twice but Mrs Dougal and Heidi very set as bosses.
Heidi and Florence kiss lots through c+c.

I'm pondering about a mate for her as I'm 100% sure she has love to offer a piggie .
She sends you all lots love and do I

That's not a tummy it's bad camera angle.

What a lovely update David.
Thank you for sharing more about your beautiful girl Heidi (who looks a little like our Ruby).

I am sure there is a piggy out there for her - maybe the rescue could help bond her with someone?

Awww, she’s a real love. But I recall she’s a very dominant sow, so she may just be happier alongside her neighbours.
I would agree but Heidi and Florence bat off each other share hay and both squeak at me she may have more to offer. .
Course I'm new and learning . . .
If it was obvious she was sad giving up after losing her mates then I would be worried but she's active very busy and great.
come on guys piggie slave has lots :luv: to give. :lol!:
But she is happy.

Glad Heidi is doing well, she looks pretty happy with her daddy cuddles and neighbour friends and all that hay to eat and nap in!
Maybe she would like a baby friend who would respect her dominant position...
why is it important to nick others hay.

The problem with extremely dominant sows is that they can get worse as they get older so, if you are seriously considering a friend for her, I would only go through rescue dating to be sure of a bond. I remember by the time I got Isobel, Jemima must have been 4.5-5 years old and although she tolerated Isobel she also started to lose weight and in the end the vet said they could only put it down to stress from having a new young'un join. I ended up splitting in to two pairs and Jemima carried on living happily with Peter who I had had before I got Jemima at 6 weeks.

Thank you for sharing your story and so glad Heidi is doing well. She is gorgeous. I know it isn’t your tummy in the photo. It’s a guinea pig perch! I’ve got one of those too My friends say it’s middle age spread. But what do they know they’re not Guinea pig parents 🤪

Guinea dating is a great idea to avoid a bond that your dominant pig only tolerates but gets stressed by, but my Meg who is 4.5/5 ish and pretty dominant really only likes Pumpkin my baby of the group. She seems much happier with Pumpkin there. You know your pig best though.

Course I go through the dating process.
Heidi is not extremely dominant at all she shows nothing only love and tlc.
She stayed days and nights with her buddies till the end not once but twice seaking in a tone that was a honour to hear and witness
thats why i feel she deserves to carry on that love with another. she visited the vets as travell companion with Chloe and was well praised by the exotic vet and was loved by the wounderful staff.
She has delt a blow losing her mates and could have given up and well you know but not at all.
So when I see her kiss and talk to Florence through the c+c that's not a aggressive piggie.
Course I can't split Mrs Dougal and Florence and i won't.
I honestly feel Heidi has a roll in piggie world and I will help her.
