As you have probably all noticed I have not been around for quite some time. Because of lots of problems at home and in my personal life I have not been on the net much lately, on getting the chance on the odd occasion to check my mail, and have also not been able to keep up with getting back to people. Due to escilating problems at home and feeling mentally exhasted I have now closed the rescue. For the last 5 years I have run the rescue almost entirely alone and as others in rescue will tell you, mentally it really takes its toll on you. I made the decision at the beginning of January and it has taken me a good while to sort out. It got to the stage where I dont even want to answer the phone because of the next potential idiot that could be on the other end. A friend from another rescue is kindly taking my remaining guinea pigs and little rodents. I have 26 guineas and rabbits that could never be rehomed because of various health issues and they will be moving with me when I move in with my fiance soon. I would like to thank anyone on here who has supported me in the past, you know who you are and I do appreciate it.

Cheryl

Ron and Vikki - I will be in touch soon as I wanted to explain a few things to you ;)

What on earth makes you think I would give my pets away? If you read my post properly I said the 26 guineas and rabbits are coming with me when I move ::)

yes i know now - i mis read it look above ^^^^^^^^ :)

I'm so sorry to hear that the rescue is closing but you've done a fantastic job and you've made a massive difference to many little lives that may otherwise have been unhappy.

There will be a lot of very happy piggies and bunnies around simply because you chose to do the work you did. Unless someone has been actively involved in rescue, day to day, it's impossible to truly understand the true comiitment and the emotional cost involved. You've put the animals needs first and not your own, it's time for a little breather. Enjoy your time now with your own animals. :)

Give yourself a great big pat on the back - as one rescue to another - WELL DONE O0

Sorry to hear you've had problems and sorry to hear the rescue is no longer going, but well done for all your work with the gps & buns. Wishing you lots of luck x

Oh love i'm sorry to hear about your problems :'( :'( :'( :'(
Life deals us things that can be quite trying at times :( :( :(
All the very very best for your future and well done for all your hard work over the past 5 years :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
There must be soooo many piggies and new mummies and daddies that have benefited from your wonderful work O0 O0 O0
Hope you stay in touch :) :)

I was so sorry to read your post Cheryl, but as others have said you have made a huge difference to the lives of so many piggies and bunnies during the past five years.

Good luck with the move, enjoy your remaining piggies and take some time to recover.

Keep in touch. x

Must have been a tough decision.

Good luck for your move and moving in with OH. O0 :smitten:

Ditto to everything said above.

It sounds as though you just need some time to yourself, to work through whatever has been going on in your life and come out the other side.
You have done an amazingly selfless thing over the last 5 years but sometimes you have to put yourself first for a bit.
