hiya i have a white sheltie who has delveloped droopy eyes been looking in group ect and i,m pretty sure its
Pea eye (or fatty eye)
it dont seem to botherr him and his eyes are clean no mess in them, eating and drinking ect do i need to take him to vets of just keep and eye on his eyes

my piggy had this and i did take him to the vets,, they gave him eye drops and told me to bathe it with warm milk twice a day or more if possable,, it had cleared up in two weeks

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I am sorry about your worries. On the issue, I completely agree with Suzy.

i did ask her why to do this if i had the eye drops and she said that it just sooths it for him, which i couldnt realy argue with as i would do anything to help my piggys :{

so should i take him to vets , or just keep an eye on them, can it clear up with drops, i read the artical ty suzi, but still wondering, it says Cavies with pea eye generally do not seem to be uncomfortable and treatment is usually not necessary. , so unsure still lol

if he seems his normal self there should be no need,, but if it gets anyworse i would take him to the vets and the eye drops will clear it up if it doesnt do it on its own.
