Hello everyone.

We became first-time guinea pig owners (or should I say slaves!) a month ago and we've foundThe Guinea Pig Forum brilliant for information on how to care for piggies.

We say that the piggies are our children's, but of course they are ours really.

They are two 5 month-old brothers. Our son has named them after Pokemon characters - the Pichu brothers. So, we have Pichu and Pichu. It's just as well they've got the same name, since we can't tell them apart by looking at them - they're identical. But they do have different personalities - one is more relaxed and slightly "braver" than the other.

I'll post a picture once I've found where my husband's mislaid the camera!

A bit about myself:

I'm a chick madly in love with pigs and I'm 13 and I Live in Victoria Australia

I own 6 pigs: Nibbles, Barb, Milly, Roxy, Cookie and Squidge.

Guineas I DID own :'( : Beanie (hence the name), Rocky, Squeaky, and Cleo

I can't wait to meet all you people! :)
 
hi and a big welcome to a great forum at least one of us ( probably more) will able to answer any questions you might have on here, and welcome to the twins ;)

This will be confusing, we now have a Beaney and a Beanie ;D
 
And to make it even more confusing Beanie number 2 has two pigs with the same name :o Aaarrrggghhh :o 2funny

Only kidding Beanie ;) ;D

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I know we're all guinea pig fans on here, but I've been surprised by the reactions of friends and family on meeting the Pichu Brothers.

Some people have been rather wary and obviously haven't fallen for the charms of guinea pigs, but most have been really enthusiastic and keen to stroke them and feed them.

The boys are settling in well and regularly wheek for food when they hear me opening the door to the utility where we keep the veg! One of them (Pichu Brave as he's known) has started chortling when we stroke him on our laps. Pichu Scared (he's not really that scared, just not as laid back as Pichu Brave) tends to be more fidgety.

All's going well at present, though I'm not looking forward to giving them their first baths. I'm working myself up to that event!
 
Hi there, I'm Verity i have 5 piggies Harry, Tia, Maria, Zubin and Eddie. i liked pokemon when i was about 8 I'm 17 now! lol we actually have to goldfish called goldeen and seaking once! lol your piggies sound lovely cant wait for the pigtures and as for baths dont worry too much the younger they are when they get used to it the easier it will be
 
See i'm already confused, I thought it was Beanie with the matching piggy names but it's not it's PennyPig 2funny 98)

Still, it's not taking much to confuse me at the moment, to much Christmas cheer I think LOL
