Please say hello to Poppy who has joined our little herd.

Poppy was a 'retired sow' who was previously used for breeding, they thought that she was 4-5 years old but she is so petite and as light as a feather. She is tame when handling and loves snuggling with the others when all having floor time.

There is a lot of ear licking from the girls and little 'telling off' nips showing
who's boss but Tetley (sat with Poppy in the bed) is very calm with her, he's being a gentle giant and Poppy often picks him to sit with.

I'm enjoying just watching them together!

Poppy is lovely & so are all of your piggies. Hope they settle down well together.

Oh she's so tiny bless her! Sounds like you and the other piggies are going to have a lovely future with her!

She is so gorgeous but so tiny ! She looks like she's 6 months old! What a lovely future she has with you x

What a lovely photo that last one is. Poppy & Tetley sat together looking very relaxed & content. Piggy on the right laying down with chookie legs out. Piggy on the left with sleepy eyes. All looks right in their world. I'm so glad you took Poppy on. She deserves a happy life after being used for breeding all her life.

Thank you all for your kind words :)

Poppy is doing well but seems to have a habit of biting ears. She does have several little chunks of her little ears missing so i'm guessing that's how she and other pigs in her herd defended themselves before. The others are being patient but often react when she approaches their ears. I've given the pigs their daily veg, but found that Poppy wasn't bothered over any veg (cucumber, peppers, red, yellow and green, tomatoes) so tried her with a little banana and some strawberry's and she enjoyed those so will just have to keep persisting with veg!

Poppy is very adventurous and inquisitive and doesn't mind being handled. She reminds me a lot of Muffin when she was younger (the piggy in my avatar), they seem to have the same huge eyes and little snout. Tetley still hasn't shown any signs of dominance towards Poppy, but my girls are still having 'nose off's', following her and little nips.
