hello two days ago i notice my boar has rough scabby bits on his back so i shampooed him today and the hair came out in my hand with the scab on the bottom can anyone tell me what this is?
Please have your piggy seen by a vet. I could be fungal or mites, but they need different, specific treatments to get on top of. Don't home treat unless you know exactly what you are up against, as you can easily make things worse than better.
I has the same with one of my piggies. It was a fungal infection. I was advised to bath him three times a week in anti-fungal shampoo and put a little bit of cream on twice a day. It has taken around five weeks but it worked and he is now good as new Oh and it gets worse before it gets better I also treated him for mites just to make sure! I am no expert though but hope this helps x
