FrankieandBenny

Hi there, I got my first 2 piggys yesterday after lots of research and reading to see if they would be a suitable pet. I'm so glad I decided they would be. They are soooooo gorgeous, I cant wait until they are a bit more settled in and ready to have cuddles (at the moment I'm leaving them alone to get used to their new surroundings and just talking to them quietly so they can get used to my voice - hope this is the right thing to do)

I got 2 boys who I have named Frankie and Benny. They are about 12 weeks old. My local rescue only had piggys on their own and being inexperienced I didnt want to try and bond them and then have it all go wrong. So we got them from our local pets at home who have always been very helpful and knowledgable with our other pets (rabbit and various hamsters over the years).

So far I have found this forum to be extremely helpful and I'm sure I will learn loads more from being here so thankyou in advance for all the help xx>>>

Hello, FrankieandBenny! Welcome to the forum. Be sure to post lots of pics and stories about your pigs!

It was very hard not to come home with more but I'm thinking that "start small" was the best course of action :))

Ill try to upload some pics but not sure how to do it 8...

My son announced that he was going to name the piggys as I had always named everything else "), I think he did ok :(|)

Ha ha, normally its me that comes up with the "unusual" ones so my son said they are going to be more "normal" this time!! Not sure who is the grown-up in this house :))

we argue cos i like "real" names (like franky and benny) and they like "pet names" (like snowy and fluffy) although I'm putting my foot down at my bf wanting to name our dog kevin! lol x

Our old dog was called Rupert so I think that Kevin is an excellent name for a dog!

Have to admit I normally go for names of my fave tv characters (usually sci-fi ones like Kirk, Sulu, Spock etc) now I'm "saying" that out loud I can see why my son insisted on the job of naming hahahahaha

I wont show del that you said that! :(|)

erm.. your son may have a point..;) haha x

Welcome to the forum!

We have a strange collection of names from sci-fi princesses to fancy names to proper "boring" names...

Mine are all Welsh which started when I came home with a Llewelyn from a rescue, and I had to practise for months to get the "LL" right! His new girls are Nerys and Nia, chosen for their pronounceability!

You can try and upload pictures through your own free account on photobucket.com, especially if you want to post pictures regularly.

Thanks for the photobucket advice Vicky Ill give that a go once I have some better ones, as they have only been with us for 24 hours they are still hiding from us a bit (although I have taken a sneaky look and when they think theyre alone they are happily running around :-))
