sorry if wrong section I'm currently a member of a sister site rabbits united(part of rabbbit rehome) i have 2 rabbits and 4 hamasters.... I'm thinking of taking on a g.pig well a pair ideally but dont really know anything about them so want to do some resarch before i go looking i would obviously want a rescue pair or a free ad pair that needed a good home.... tho i do know the risks with taking on a free ad one health probs etc...so i guess i basically am asking whats the basics...I'm particularly what size accomodation and i would like to preferably keep them outdoors but bring them inside during colder months i currently have a spare 4ftx1.5x1.5ft hutch which has 2 levels connected by a ramp...would this be ok? i have read conflicting revieew s bout g.pigs and ramps. also other thing is i dont want tehm cramped they would have access to a run from this hutch too as wouldnt want them cramped up. i still need to convince my oh too as he seems to change his mind a lot about how many animalsi should be allowed! lol but once he is happy i can put wheels in motion so please dont show me adorable pics of those who need a home (We can get to that later) as i need his ok and to get that i need to have all the know how and answers! sorry its long!

Hutch sounds fine to me (but I am no expert). My outside group have a two story hutch and cope with the ramp fine, they were a bit unsure at the start when they were young and needed a line of carrot peelings to get them up it but now they love it :).
As for inside it depends on what you want. Some people use C&C grids to make cages, this is not ideal for me so I stick to cages such as the Nero 3 and 4, google them for some pictures and prices.
Mine also have indoor and outdoor runs (inside for wet and cold days).

Good luck for getting youe OH to agree, I love my guinea pigs and they are such nice pets to have (as are any pets). I also have a rabbit too, a big lop eared thing LOL.
