Hey all , just a quick introduction , my names Aisha and my two piggies are called Dolce and Gabana , we live in Weston in the south west :) , Gabana is black and tan and looks out for Dolce, who is white + cream and abit more timid and looks to me more than Gabana for guidance :), I'm thinking about getting them a harness, as my last run got broken and am not in a posistion to put them in a run and then be able to stay so i can make sure those pesky cats don't get them , what do you think ?

Hii and hope i get some more guinea pig knowledge etc :) , when i get older i intend to open my house + hutches to foster guinea pigs:)
 
Hi welcome to the forum. your piggies sound gorgeous. Harnesses are not good for piggies. they can hurt there back etc so i would advise you not to use them. maybe give them floor time in a bedroom with you supervising them.

I'm Vicky; I have two guinea pigs as well, both are rescues.

However, I don't think that a leash is a good idea for guinea pigs - they can easily damage their spine when they rush off and are snapped back. Not like ferrets, unfortunately! And a crippled guinea pig in constant pain is not what you would like to end up...

Haven't you got anybody who can repair the run? Perhaps you could get somebody to do it for you by offering some kind of favour in return (like dog walking or piggy sittting)? Your boys - they sound lovely! - will be much happier when they can move around freely.
 
Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm Jools and I have 4 piggies and 1 rescue due to come home in a couple of weeks.
Maybe scan the freeads, freecycle and preloved to see if you can find a cheap run? :)

and my run is now in the tip , it was leant folded up against the house and big dog , stepped on it and put his foot through it , stoopid mutt.

i was going to ask my daddums to make me a new one , but by the time he gets round to it , the nice weather would be gone :( , I'm sure my nan( who i live with,) will sit with them for a while , but i like for them to have hours out , because they love it, the pop corn all over the shop haha ,

maybe if i got my dad to make one with two layers of chicken wire it would work ? i just get so worried, cuz i simply can't be out there all day :( , stoopid exams see to that !
