Your piggy needs vet care ASAP. It is either bad urine scald/infection from sitting in its own excrement or an infection of the urinary tractor the womb, but it needs an antibiotic urgently as the genitalia are quit swollen and very sore looking. Please gently disinfect the sore area and change the bedding daily.

Do you have a non-kill rescue with medical care within your reach (petfinder for the US)?
If you are in the UK, can you please tell us your county?

Please dont give her to a petshop, her chances will be much much better at a rescue centre for guinea pigs

Our county is Yorkshire. We have treated her with antiseptic and we already always clean their cage every morning and evening.

@Alice: Please try to contact the rescue that is closest to you. There is also one in Middlesbrough and a new one in East Yorkshire that we have vetted in its previous location. The rescues will work out a pick up with you and your family.

All these rescues do have vet care, so you can be sure that your piggy/piggies will get what it needs and will only go to a good and home checked home once it is fully healthy, and you have the peace of mind that you have made sure that she is safe and will have the company of another piggy she is getting on with well. That will hopefully help you as well as you must be devastated right now.

And no, you don't have to wait until she is healthy again; the rescue will make sure that she gets the correct treatment right away. ;)

Hope all works out well for you.
It must be hard having to give up your girl.
It will feel like you’re grieving so be gentle with yourself

Yes thankyou we have found a lovely looking rescue and 2 of our baby girls are going tomorrow. 😭

BIG HUGS!

I have had to give up two babies from an unplanned pregnancy that were born in the middle of major family health emergency involving a lot of long distance travel at the drop of a hat and that I couldn't keep. It was a heart-breaking experience, and I feel for you! :(

Please feel sad, but do not feel bad about yourself; you are still a caring owner and will hopefully become a caring owner of a rescue pet again at some point in your life when conditions are right. Whether you let a beloved pet go or whether it dies, you still have to go through the same grieving process, as I know myself from my own experience. Give yourself time to grieve and be kind to yourself in the coming days. You have not failed your little girls, and that is what counts!
